Our Story
Harry Green Senior started the business in 1984 after resigning as branch manager at Lowveld Organ Centre. He was a dynamic businessman in the community and an excellent musician who played a variety of musical instruments. At the age of 17, he toured with Gé Korsten, playing double bass.
After passing away in 1998, Harry Jr took over the reins. While growing up he was exposed to music daily and developed a love for instruments at an early age. From his father, he learned how to tune pianos to full harmonic scaling. On top of that he received world class training at none other than Steinway & Sons in Germany to become a professional piano technician. Harry’s daughters, Karla and Charlene, inherited a love for music from their father and grandfather.
Since Harry took over the business more than 18 years ago, it has had to move to increasingly larger premises. The current location is unit 6, 1 Loco Road, Vintonia, Mbombela 1201. The business that started with four employees has grown to a staff complement of 12, all full time. They consist of skilled sales executives, service-technicians, experienced sound and lighting technicians, IT technicians, marketing agents, passionate musicians, and an installation team.
Due to the demand for a professional production company in the Lowveld, Rock Solid Sound Productions was established in 2013 by Harry Green Music World (Pty) Ltd. Today Rock Solid Sound Productions is an Industry Standard production company that is in effect, a merge of Rock Solid Sound and Harry Green Music World (Pty) Ltd. Harry regularly attends the Music Messe in Frankfurt, Germany, where musical instruments manufactured around the world, are showcased. This is how he, among others, stays abreast of the latest developments in the world of music. He also won the prestigious Wharfedale Pro competition five times with the opportunity to visit their factory in China.

Harry Green Music World is service-orientated and for this reason believes that business is still going strong after 33 years. In 2014, the idea of an online-shop was birthed, aiming to cater for every person in the music-industry, on a national level. This is simply an extension of many years’ experience, quality client-relationships and service excellence.
Harry Green is also closely involved in music awareness and ‘giving back’ to the community. On an annual basis, toddlers are given the opportunity to learn about musical instruments. Regular training- seminars and various workshops on instruments and sound equipment are hosted for free.
