The Ernie Ball Silver Slinky strings were developed through the partnership between Ernie Ball and John Mayer. The signature set uses a specific combination of gauges and core-to-wrap ratios to meet John’s requirements for tone and tension.

The plain strings feature Reinforced Plain String (RPS) construction for added tuning stability and durability. The signature gauge combination includes half-gauge trebles and differs from the Mega Slinky 10.5–48 set. This model is a single complete six-string set, not the Silver Slinky three-pack or six-pack.
