The Ernie Ball Everlast Coated acoustic strings use Ernie Ball’s proprietary nanotechnology treatment to repel moisture and oils that can negatively affect string tone. The treatment is applied to both the inner hex core and outer wrap wire, providing protection while aiming to retain the string’s tone and feel.

The wound strings use an alloy of 80% copper and 20% zinc around hex-shaped, brass-plated steel core wire. This 80/20 Bronze construction provides a crisp, ringing sound with pleasing overtones. These are coated steel-core acoustic strings, not nylon classical strings or an uncoated Earthwood set.
